Well I finally finished it.
It was a pretty basic fix but it was a design process. First I tried to spray paint a harlequinn pattern (diamonds). That didn't look great. Then I thought I would decopage patterned paper cut into diamonds but we weren't crazy about that either. I just applied the mouldings and spray painted it. Then let it go for a 2 days. Late last night....a brainstorm and off to Jerry's for a few decorative wood appliques. I drilled a hole through the square ones spray painted all of them, then antiqued them in silver. glues and pin nailed them into place WA-LA. I think it turned out pretty good and it looks a new piece of furniture for under $30.00 P.S. I fixed the top applique that was crooked if that was bugging you. I know it was bugging me.
Love the added trim!

PS cannot wait to see the lamp in there. =))
Thank you Barb. I'm trying to finish up her headboard and canopy this weekend to finish the room. She wants me to spray paint the lamp base solid cream so I will tackle that today.
